Happy Square Root Day!

Yesterday, March 2, brought ten inches of snow to our region, despite the fact that the calendar has now slipped into the official month that will hopefully bring us Spring. The US stock market reached a fourteen year low, closing at 6763.29. And this morning, the thermometer registered 10 degrees, with a wind chill of 1 degree. 2, 10, 6763.29, 14, 10, 1 - and today, 3,3,9. Numbers are everywhere. They form the basis of our everyday lives. But for math enthusiasts, today is especially significant. Today is "Square Root Day", a humorous holiday celebrated on dates where the day and the month are both the square root of the last two digits in the current year.

What numbers are significant to you? 3 and 7 are ones that hold special meaning to me - 3 being the day in November that I was born, also the number that Christians believe in when describing the Holy Trinity -"Father, Son, & Holy Spirit", and 7 for the number of days in the Creation story.

There are more significant numbers that relate to the current Financial Crisis that I won't get into today, but will post soon. For now, just enjoy another holiday- the next Square Root Day does not come around until 4/4/16!

Until next post, continue to believe, achieve, receive. SDG - JBHIV
